Back from his second European exhibit, Jean Pronovost looks back to the results of this trip. His journey begins in Dottikon, Argovia near Zurich. The Swiss exhibit Airbrush Magic 2008, was presented on October 11th and 12th 2008. Many important European figures of fantastic arts were exposed with the artist. The event was successful and greeted thousands of visitors. The media coverage of this events graced Jean Pronovost by putting him on the cover of the AZ freiamt newspaper, a publication printing over 150 000 copies (see photo). Due to Jean Pronovost generous patron, this world renowned exhibit quickly transformed in an international event. The artist executed a live painting which was sold to one of the guest of this prestigious exhibit. After this memorable exhibit, Jean Pronovost had the opportunity to visit many of the most important European capitals. This way, he visited Vienna (Austria), Prague (Czech Republic), Berlin (Germany), Brussels and Bruges (Belgium) and finally Amsterdam (Holland). During his trip, he met Ernst Fuchs, eminent artist of fantastic art. In his visit at the homonymous museum, Mr. Fuchs proposed the artist a project which will happen next summer. The discussion and exchange were very enriching for Jean Pronovost. How not to be astonished and inspired by those artistically and historically rich capitals, by those hundreds of cities that can be felt even in the walls? After travelling through innumerable museums, the artist is back with an effervescent inspiration, enlightens and grandly motivated. |

URBAN MYTHOLOGYBy an initiative suggested by the artist-painter and sculptor Jean Pronovost and a experienced team in cinema, a colossal sculptural work of art and discussed by its mythological thematic was exposed on the corner of the streets McGill College and Ste-Catherine for a three hours period, that is to say between 5 p.m. and 20 hours, May 1, 2007.
This performance does implying a sculpture from a height of 8 feet aimed to propel art out of the museums and to present it at the peoples of the street without warning nor protocol, in order to make the population react to the art which, placed out-context, will unambiguously contrast with concrete architecture and people bored with their job.
The purpose of this premiere was also to promote the ILLUMINATION exhibition which was presented at the new underground gallery Usine 106U, located at the 111 Roy E. Opening was taking place on the evening of May 3, from 5 PM to 11 PM. The sculpture The lord and lady of duality, plus two large size paintings from his work was exposed as well as art from a collective of artists of more than twenty-two painters and sculptors.

The Canadian magazine Espace Sculpture devotes its spring 2007 issue to fantastic in art.
Le Seigneur et la Dame de la Dualité of Jean Pronovost is presented there, as well as work of the Canadian artists Mark Prent, David Altmejd and many others.

Jean Pronovost is proud to present « Le culte du néant », a 5x6 foot oil painting on which he worked for one year. This is an allegory representing our society at various periods. Anachronisms and symbols here represent our culture, our system, our servitude, the incoherence in which we live with our customs and our inflatable ideals. This piece, as the title suggests, is a hymn to decadence and to the hopes of our civilization.
